Dry Needling

Two of our physical therapists, Addison and Sarah, are certified dry needling specialists who integrate dry needling with hands-on manual therapy and individualized therapeutic exercise. This comprehensive approach helps reduce pain, restore movement, and accelerate progress toward your personal goals, whether you’re recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, or returning to sport or daily activity.

What is Dry Needling?

Dry needling is a skilled treatment that targets the neuromusculoskeletal system using a thin, solid filament needle. By precisely stimulating tight or irritated muscles, nerves, and connective tissue, dry needling can:

  • Reduce muscle tension and pain
  • Improve mobility and flexibility
  • Enhance muscle activation and coordination
  • Support faster and longer-lasting results from therapy

Dry needling is not acupuncture - it is a science-based physical therapy technique grounded in anatomy, movement science, and clinical research.

Your therapist will always perform a thorough evaluation and explain the treatment so you feel informed, comfortable, and confident in your care.

Adding dry needling to my physical therapy has provided a level of relief I haven’t experienced in years. It significantly reduces the tension and discomfort in my neck, makes my exercises more effective, and gives me longer-lasting relief between sessions. I highly recommend it!

Dry needling triggered nerves and muscles that were dormant/paralyzed since having a stroke nearly 4 years ago. I am so pleased with the results, I highly recommend it.

"I can actually get back to activities I love."

"I can actually get back to activities I love."

Dry needling at Pain Relief and Physical Therapy has drastically helped my arthritic knees. Before I started dry needling, I felt doomed at such a young with the constant stiffness and chronic pain. I felt as a knee replacement was creeping up faster and was going to be the only option left. After receiving dry needling sessions, my stiffness and pain has significantly been reduced. I can actually get back to activities I love such as coaching field hockey, running around with my dogs, hiking and working out. I am so thankful that dry needling is an option for my recovery!
